We are looking for an experienced Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) to join the team with a core objective to partner with our senior business leaders to execute on our people initiatives, provide excellent support and coaching to employees and managers, and drive people programmes and continuous process improvement with a goal to create a great place to work. The Human resource Business Partner is a senior HR role which operates as both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle support to its business partner leader. This person is a key member of the HR team with a goal to bring a top class progressive HR service to the Dunnes Stores employees and ensure our employees are at the centre of everything we do.

Key duties involve:

Partnership:

  • Partner with the Head of department establishing him/herself as a competent, knowledgeable, trusted, reliable partner
  • Be the front face of HR representation for the department, liaising with the various HR support functions or Recruitment, Administration, Talent and compensation.
  • Develop and deliver HR solutions to drive the departments needs including  performance management, employee engagement, succession planning, talent retention and communication etc
  • Coach and consult with the head of department on an ongoing basis on people issues affecting morale, performance, reward, retention, development and organisation effectiveness, seeking to determine root causes, recommending and implementing appropriate next steps.
  • Provide support to the department managers; coaching, developing and supporting them to build their skills and effectively lead their team.
  • Support the department head with employee communications, including written communications, memos and flyers to staff (in the Dunnes stores way) and managing feedback from employees through the various avenues.
  • Build a strong culture of care for people including creating a great team environment.

         

        Change and Transformation:

        • Be a change supporter, using change management techniques to support the department with any HR system or process improvement changes
        • Be a change leader in the HR Leadership team, proactively suggesting new ways to improve HR processes and service level.
        • Support HR system improvement projects.

         

        Talent Development:

        • Work with the Head of Talent and the Head of department to focus on the current and future successional needs of the team, retaining and engaging the best talent.
        • Leverage the support of the Head of talent to develop talent plans, create career paths and development programmes for the department.
        • On a high level support the head of talent to measure the teams overall performance, potential and succession and training needs; providing team level solutions to ensure a strong pipeline of talent.
        • Work with the Head of Recruitment to define the departments talent needs; identifying, recruiting, onboarding and retaining top talent.

           

          Operational Deliverables

          • Responsible for working with the department head on all employee relations matters following the agreed HR business Partner protocols and processes. Drive a learning culture with the line managers supporting them with the tools and training to resolve issues quickly.
          • Monitor and analyse HR metrics and performance indicators for the department, anticipating and identifying relevant future people-related issues and trends. Provide advice and counsel to the business on these, and implement measures and interventions to address them.
          • Support the development of a performance driven team, focused on feedback and performance related objectives.
          • Drive the HR fundamentals for the head of department including workforce planning, headcount and budgeting.
          • Work closely with the department and the HR team to rollout and enhance employee experience initiatives.

             

            HR team Leadership

            • As a senior HR team member actively contribute and collaborate with the HR team to drive the overall HR and People agenda.
            • Lead change within your business area in line with overall People plan including rollout of change initiatives and mechanisms.
            • Work closely with the Head of Talent and Head of Recruitment to build the overall organisational talent and capability.
            • Lead, develop and motivate the junior HR team members providing mentorship and coaching to enhance its capability.
            • Deliver on agreed specific business focused HR projects and undertake specific project work as part of the HR leadership team.
            • Develop strong relationships with the key stakeholders and be able to challenge and guide them.

               

              The ideal Candidate:

              • Minimum 10 years HR experience gained in a similar sized, multinational progressive organisation with a proven reputation for working in a demanding and competitive environment.
              • A preference for a candidate who has experience in either a consumer led, retail, or service Industry.
              • Third level degree in a business/HR related discipline with CIPD qualification or equivalent desirable
              • Experience in true HR business partnering with ownership for a business area and or entire organisation
              • Innovative, creative and strong listening skills with a coaching or mentoring qualification is desirable
              • A strong relationship builder, with the gravitas to quickly command the confidence and respect of the senior management team.
              • Sound commercial judgement, a keen interest in learning the business and contributing people solutions with a business lens to be able to work cohesively with the other members of the department on commercial issues.
              • Able to work independently and willing to take on challenges and responsibilities in a dynamic and evolving environment while also collaborating as part of an overall HR leadership team
              • Ability to move from strategic to tactical and comfortable taking a hands on approach.
              • A proven track record of leading change and transformation projects including culture development, talent development and systems improvement.
              • Flexible, and strong ability to deal with ambiguity and change
