The Bakery Operations Manager is the guardian of product quality and presentation for the companies Bakery model. Working closely with both the buying team and operational colleagues you will be tasked with delivering the highest standard of product quality and presentation consistently across the group.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Staff Training

  • Train out and deliver our Bakery Production Planning schedule which delivers high quality product consistently throughout the day including set up and close down procedures.

  • Maintain and develop our existing staff training documents and processes.

  • and inspire operations colleagues to achieve the highest standards of quality and merchandising across all areas of Bakery. Always encourage teams to be proud and to celebrate success.

  • Impart product knowledge in a sensible and interesting way to improve the customers’ perception of our Bakery and to develop the skillset within our Bakery.

  • Maintain a continuous performance review of operations team incorporating frequent refresh training based on up to date developments.

 

Change Management

  • Work closely with buying & operations to ensure seamless rollout of future store openings/revamps within the group to include overseeing the training of new staff and implementation of new concepts.

  • Continuously provide constructive feedback on new developments and product concepts seeking to improve the overall Bakery model to deliver consistency and efficiency.

  • a proactive role in the co-ordination of training plans content and rollout for all new product launches.

  • Work with product/equipment supply specialists to assist in formulating a dynamic training plan.

 

Accountability & Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery and maintenance of production planning process across the business

  • Delivery of high standards of merchandising and product quality across the group.

  • Successful rollout of new Bakeries/Revamps

  • Implementation of best practice for all new product launches.

  • Continuous people development and upskilling of Bakery staff.

  • Delivery of sales and waste targets by store.

 

Key Attributes

 

  • A self-driven person with a genuine love of food. Ideally, a knowledge of bakery and/or fresh food products and production processes would be desirable.

  • Methodical with an ability to co-ordinate training modules coupled with the people skills to both train and inspire.

 

  • A process and compliance driven individual who believes in the benefits of delivering both.

 

  • The ability to work on his/her own and in team environment as necessary.

 

  • Motivated by success and have a relentless commitment to see projects through to a conclusion.

 

  • An excellent time manager with the ability to multi task and work with multi-functional departments.

 

  • Have excellent operational skills coupled with an awareness of commercial responsibility.
