Personal Injury Legal Claims Professional

Dunnes Stores is Ireland’s leading retailer with over 100 stores across the country. We are looking to recruit a high calibre Personal Injuries Legal Claims Professional. The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to be part of a thriving business and a highly motivated team.

Responsibilities:

  • To proactively manage a high volume portfolio of Personal Injury and related claims including Employers, Public, Motor and Product Liability claims.
  • Experience in discrimination claims brought to the WRC under the Equal Status Acts  would be an advantage
  • To advise on litigation strategies including any third party involvement
  • Be capable of achieving the best settlement outcomes either directly or in conjunction with our external legal teams,
  • To manage relationships with our business partners including panel solicitors, Senior and Junior Counsel, forensic engineers, cost accountants, private investigations, stenographers, and all relevant third parties as appropriate
  • To manage all the aspects of a claim from assessing liability, undertaking additional investigations, advising on appropriate reserves and reporting directly to the Head of Insurance Claims in relation to same
  • To collate and safely manage key documents and papers relating to claims
  • To adhere to all general data protection protocols
  • To ensure the consistent and accurate management of the file
  • To liaise directly with plaintiff solicitors pre-litigation
  • To keep up to date with all recent court judgements on claims to assist the business
  • Be a team player who takes pride in delivering a top quality proactive service to the business

Key Requirements:

  • You will be either a solicitor or a claims professional  a professional working within legal claims with a minimum of 5 years experience of personal Injury and related claims including Employers’ and Public Liability, Motor, Product claims
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Exceptional negotiation skills
  • Strong fees and cost management skills would be a distinct advantage.
  • Evidence of strong communication skills is essential –the role requires an ability to communicate confidently both verbally and in written form in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and flexible to meet required deadlines.
  • The ability to produce work to an exceptionally high standard
  • To have IT competence in Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Team-working skills – a flexible and self-motivated team player who is able to respect and support others within the team to achieve common goals.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to demonstrate experience of building strong relationships for the business
  • Analytical and problem solving skills are essential
