This role is a key part of our Customer Insight team. The Customer Insight team in Dunnes Stores is responsible for customer research, analytics and loyalty insights.

The GIS insight analyst will assist the business in analysing customers, catchments and store performance.   Join us and you will enjoy contact with a wide range of our business areas and you will be instrumental in developing new store expansion and marketing strategies that will help us to remain a market leader in food, fashion and homewares. 

 

Key Responsibilities:-

  • Working closely with Dunnes Stores Property and Customer Insight Departments you will be using ArcGIS software along with customised methodologies/data sets to produce and analyse data which will influence company decisions at the highest levels. 
  • Providing insight into store performance and creating models and systems, you will help the Property department decide where to build new stores, or how to invest in our expansion plans. 
  • You will also assist the Customer Insight Department in understanding customer and store catchments which will result in the development of new sales and marketing strategies to benefit existing and future customers. 

Key day to day responsibilities will include:-

  • Developing specialised maps & datasets, using ArcGIS software. 
  • Extracting demographic and other data and information from various databases for use in maps or reports. 
  • Obtain and maintains market data (e.g. existing and proposed retail developments or competitor locations).
  • You will use your skills to influence real world business situations.

You are ideal if you have:-

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in using GIS software is essential.
  • Proven experience as a data analyst preferable.
  • Proven ability to apply analytical and creative thought process to complex issues
  • Great attention to detail and the ability to work independently
  • Proven ability to deliver high profile activities to tight timescales
  • Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in using any of the following: statistical programming environments, data science methods and techniques, data analysis tools such as Alteryx.

Education & Qualifications:-

  • Degree level qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Geography, GIS, Analytics and Mathematics).
